The story behind the studio.
I grew up in Utah chasing adventures, the love of the outdoors never stayed in childhood. It turned into a life built around it: living in an RV for months at a time, bringing our dogs on every trip we could, and slowly checking off a growing list of bucket-list adventures, from summiting Mt. Timpanogos to hiking the Dolomites someday.
All through my design education, I was taught that a designer's real job isn't making things look good, it's telling a story. I took that seriously enough to bring my own story into a college interview once, growing up outdoors and all, and the interviewer told me it was too much, that I should cut it down to only the "professional bits." So I did. I spent years polishing and toning myself down into something more palatable, and none of it brought me closer to the work I actually wanted to do.
It wasn't until I stopped shrinking my story, and let the outdoors be as central to my work as it is to my life, that things started to feel aligned.
That's the lens I bring to every brand I build now: I know what it feels like to flatten a real story into something safe, and I know what it takes to build one that doesn't. It's why I don't build brands that blend in, another muted color palette, another mountain in the logo. I build brands that stand out, because the ones that last are the ones brave enough to tell the truth.
TRAINED, GROUNDED, ON THE ROAD
I trained at SCAD, where storytelling was drilled into every part of the design process before the visuals ever came second. These days, that same process happens between adventures, wherever the next trip takes me.

If you're building a brand for the outdoors, I'd love to hear where you're headed.
How I work
Every project starts with a conversation, not a questionnaire. We talk through your beliefs, your goals, and what you see for your brand, and we figure out together if I'm the right fit for the work. If it's a match, you'll fill out a full brand questionnaire so I have everything I need to start building the brand of your dreams.
From there, we stay in close touch. Regular check-ins keep us aligned as the work takes shape, so nothing shows up at the finish line as a surprise. What you walk away with isn't a folder of files, it's a full system built to work for you: consistent, intentional, and ready to grow.
And if you need a creative partner after launch, I'm not going anywhere. Trail Guide keeps me in your corner for the seasons ahead.
